Omar Guzman

     Hola, I'm Omar, a first-generation immigrant from Mexico. My journey in the United States began with the indomitable spirit of my parents, who arrived here not knowing a word of English but with hearts full of determination and a relentless work ethic that continues to inspire me today.

     Growing up, I witnessed my parents' unwavering commitment to achieving more despite facing countless challenges. Their resilience and perseverance instilled in me the belief that success required hard work and dedication. As I approached the crossroads of my high school graduation, I realized that pursuing higher education was a dream I couldn't afford in the traditional sense.

     Undeterred by financial constraints, I took a pivotal step by enrolling in a local community college. Those first two years became my foundation, providing a cost-effective way to accumulate essential credits and prepare for my journey ahead.

     My dream took shape when I was accepted into Texas A&M University. From the moment I set foot on campus, I eagerly immersed myself in every club and organization that aligned with my passions and interests. It was during this time that I discovered A&M's thriving entrepreneurship culture. Surrounded by aspiring entrepreneurs and business visionaries, I began to explore how I could contribute my skills to their ventures.

     From a young age, I had been captivated by the art of video creation, although I once perceived it as merely a hobby. However, I decided to take a leap of faith and invested in my first camera. Driven by my newfound passion, I dove headfirst into learning the intricacies of shooting and editing videos.

     Leveraging the connections I had cultivated at my university, I quickly established a reputation for myself as a skilled videographer, securing paying clients along the way. Just two years later, I achieved a milestone I had only dreamt of when I was hired by Google to capture an event during SXSW.

     While my video skills continued to evolve, I also embarked on a parallel journey as a social media manager at GoDaddy, working closely with local businesses to enhance their online presence. This role allowed me to apply my creative talents to help businesses thrive in the digital landscape.

     My journey has been marked by passion, perseverance, and continuous growth. As I stand at this juncture, I am on the lookout for my next adventure. My experiences have reinforced my belief that challenges are opportunities in disguise, and I am eager to take on new challenges and make a meaningful impact on the world!
